Mayor Chu visited New Zealand and Australia during Chinese New Year to exchange

New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu today (1/30) at the Spring Festival Celebration shared his visiting experience at New Zealand and Australia with his city government employees. He suggested New Taipei City Government to learn from the public policies of Auckland and Wellington in New Zealand and Bristol in Australia.

Mayor Chu reported that he met with Graham Quirk, Mayor of Bristol in Australia; Len Brown, Mayor of Auckland, New Zealand; and Celia Wade-Brown, Mayor of Wellington, New Zealand during Chinese New Year. He pointed out that Auckland, with its five cities integrated in 2010, is facing the same kind of problems like New Taipei City does. On the other hand, Wellington-with its environmental protection policies, streamside management, light sculpture on bridges, etc.-also serves as a inspiration model for New Taipei City.

At the Spring Festival Celebration, Mayor Chu reminded government workers that serving at public departments is an enjoyable honor and expected them to devote their earnest effort into serving the citizens.
