Ten thousand citizens enjoy their family time at the charity fair

In an effort to help out high-risk families, New Taipei City Government and Carrefour Ltd hosted a charity fair that invited 600 underprivileged families and Carrefour’s employees. Mayor Chu also attended the event and praised that Carrefour is an outstanding model of corporate business that takes up its social responsibilities to help improve lives of underprivileged people. He hoped more corporations can join such kind of effort in the future.


According to Social Welfare Department, 600 high-risk families of parents and children participated in the event today. Carrefour offered each participant with a 100 NT dollar bill. PR of Carrefour Ltd, He Mozhen, explained that today’s charity fair coincided with the corporation’s first Employee Family Day, and 2500 employees from 14 Carrefour braches in New Taipei City showed up with their families to attended the charity fair. The event is also open to regular citizens and around ten thousand people are expected to join the fun.

 

The charity fair also set up a “Battling Inflation” area, where citizens could purchase instant noodles, guavas, and tissue packs with their 10-dollar charity fair coupons. The event site was crowded today with 70 vending stands that are divided into four areas. All profits earned from sold merchandises at the charity fair will be donated to social welfare institutions.
