Mayor Chu recommends good books on Book’s Day
2012 Book’s Day is launched today at Eslite Bookstore in Banchiao District in New Taipei City. Mayor Chu attends the show with 15 teenagers and also encourages them to read more good books when they are still young.
He also adds that he plans to make New Taipei a city with good books by building the first animation hall in Fuchung Banchiao, and a new city library will be open at the end of this year to offer more reading space.
Popular pop band Wonfu is also invited to attend this year with 15 high schools and vocation schools in the city to join. A NTD$5,000 gift certificate is given to encouragement. Selected books will also be shown in local libraries at the same time.
