(II) Replacement Therapy

1.     New Taipei City’s “Replacement Therapy Rehabilitation Service” program provides assistance to those individuals with strong heroine addiction to get into the medical system to receive methadone or buprenorphine replacement therapy, in order to reduce the usage rate of Opium type substance and criminal activities, as well as the risk of spreading the AIDS virus as a result of sharing needles. The city hopes to establish a complete drug replacement therapy rehabilitation model.

2.     Replacement Therapy Institutions: A total of 10 locations (11 enforcement locations)

(III) Non-Heroine Addiction Medical Rehabilitation Services

1.　The program for level 2 and 3 drug users registered in New Taipei City (Level 2 such as amphetamines and ecstasy; Level 3 such as ketamine) is primarily focused on psychotherapy and supplemented by physical exams and medication as necessary. It can also provide them with medical rehabilitation service and partial medical expense assistance. Citizens registered in the New Taipei City area with related problems have one opportunity per lifetime to join this assistance program.

2.     Non-Heroine Addiction Medical Rehabilitation Services Institutions: A Total of 7 locations (8 Enforcement Locations)

(IV) Halfway House of Drug Addition Services

1.　By working with civilian organizations, the services can refer drug-addicted individuals registered in the city to live at the halfway house, provide a support environment and partial expense assistance, in order to reduce the financial burden placed on the individual while undergoing the halfway house guidance, and accompany the individuals to overcome temptation and reduce his/her chance of relapse.
