Mayor Chu attends the forum for low-carbon environment

New Taipei City Mayor Chu inaugurates the 4th National Forum with Chief of Legislative Yaun Wang, Chief of Environmental Protection Bureau Shen, and ex Vice President Lu on June 24th 2012.

The forum is so-sponsored by New Taipei City Government and Association of Community College with the topic “Striving for low-carbon Taiwan” held on the 3rd floor at New Taipei City Hall. Several experts and citizens are invited for discussion in order to reach a consensus aimed at creating a more environmentally friendly Taiwan in the future.

Mayor Chu also emphasizes that nuclear issues have always been a hotly-debated topic in New Taipei City, and he hopes more ideas can be collected to promote green energy instead of nuclear power through this forum.

Some other issues include nuclear safety and waste disposal, building more energy-related regulations, rivers and border re-organization, public supervision mechanism, and low-carbon city proposal are all being addressed this time via ample open discussions and conversations between citizens and government officials.
