Zhuwei Junior High School gets upgraded to Zhuwei High School

 Zhuwei Junior High School in Tamsui District today was officially upgraded to Zhuwei High School. Mayor of New Taipei City, Eric Chu at the inauguration ceremony said New Taipei City Government has been promoting the idea of local students studying in local schools ever since the city administration upgrade. He wished all New Taipei students could go to schools near where they live and would like thank support from local people making Zhuwei High School possible.

 

In the morning, Mayor Chu accompanied by several city councilors attended the ceremony with Chancellor of Taipei National University of Arts and Dean of School of Film and New Media to celebrate the inauguration.

 

According to Mayor Chu, Zhuwei High School at pre-approval stage has already admitted 96 students, among whom 82 are living Tamsui area, posting an impressive 85% rate of local school commuting. Chu wished that more students could come to study at local schools through later common applications.

 


According to Education Department, the upgraded Zhuwei high School will sign the “Cooperative Education Memorandum” with Taipei National University of Arts to implement a six-year art and technology program. Mayor Chu praised the co-work between the two institutes.

 

Chancellor of Taipei National University of Arts, Zu Zhongching said it was rare for a university to have sister school tie with a high school. Nevertheless, he revealed he was happy about the cooperation and was eager to make Zuwei High School a school with distinguishing artistic and cultural characteristics.
