Mayor Chu: “ Creating a quality life time learning environment”

 The 2011 New Taipei City Successful Social Education Award Ceremony (collaboration of Senior Learning Center and Local Community College) is hosted by Mayor Eric Chu in the city hall’s auditorium this afternoon. This event is held as an effort to encourage the citizen to never stop learning and at the same time promoting a quality learning environment.

The Mayor has expressed that, these energetic senior participants truly display the motto of “learning is ageless”. And the purpose of this ceremony is to combine education, society and family and make the most use off of them throughout the every step of your lives.

The recipient of the filial piety today sets a prime example for all citizens nations wide. Mr. Lin Zi Xiao who is still a student in school, carried on the responsibility throughout every step of his life, whether is taking care of his two younger brothers or aiding the family with the family eatery by enduring the hardship of a single parent family.

This collaborated ceremony combines four social activities as a mean for the general public to pay closer attention to social education. By combing the fundamental education of schools and families, completes to goal of lifetime learning and platform.

The Department of Education states that there are four facilities that are being award. A total of 22 awards are given to Senior Learning Center; 14 are excellent, 7 are great and 1 is satisfactory.

Community College provides citizens a variant channel of specialty training that meets the vast interests of the pubic. Total of 8 schools are given the awards for proving excellent education.

Successful Social Education group awards are given to Zhong Yuan and Yi Ming Elementary School in San Xia District of Taipei, Cancer Prevention and Education Foundation and many others.

The Department of Education is taking this opportunity to praise all good deeds and inspire hardworking individuals of the New Taipei City through today’s ceremony.
