Mayor Chu lays out his ten major development plans for building a better future

New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu today at the fourth council meeting gave a report on his administration plan. In the report he announced ten major development plans for building a better future in New Taipei City. He would like to thank all councilors’ support for his past and ongoing projects such as constructing 3-ring-3-line metro network, establishing public daycare centers and civic sports centers, building a garden city, enhancing city environment, education, and social welfare, etc. Finally, he urged the city government team to keep up the hard work to make New Taipei City a happy place for people to live.

As Mayor Chu stressed in his report, the proposals he gave during his election campaign two years ago have all subsequently entered the implementation progress. Whereas some encountered certain difficulties, some already returned a portion of outcome, he said.

Specifically, Mayor Chu’s ten major development plans includes building a convenient transportation network to support local economy, pushing for metropolitan development to create prosperity in Greater Taipei Area, improving industrial environment to stimulate economic growth, instilling culture and art into tourism, promoting and encouraging students to study at local schools, enhancing the social welfare system and health care, maintaining secure communities, strengthening flood-control mechanism, increasing government efficiency and district services, and renovating New Taipei City into a low carbon garden city.

Out of the ten major development plans, Mayor Chu especially would like to talk about building a convenient transportation network, in particular, the 3-ring-3-line metro lines. Mayor Chu reported that all constructions of the 3-ring-3-line project has either been under planning or timely started. “The city government would also set up connecting bus and rail services to enlarge transportation coverage of the metro network,” said Chu. “We wish the citizens could enjoy a much more convenient transportation in the future.”
