Government-promoted Wanli crab bundles sell out in a flash

Directly delivered from Wanli, the delicious Wanli crabs were sold in bundles today at the 1st floor of FE21 department store. With New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu selling the first bundle for today, all bundles were sold out in just 20 minutes. Mayor Chu praised the hard work by fishermen that allows citizens to enjoy the fresh, delicious Wanli crabs with inexpensive price.

With 2012 New Taipei Crab Festival coming on October 21st at Wanli Yeliu Fish Port, officials for promotion today brought in many crab tanks to FE21. The crabs were pulled out of their tanks and tied up into 101 bundles for sale. Each bundle weighing about 1.2 kilograms was sold for NT$799; each customer could only buy up to one bundle.

Officials also invited experienced chefs to today’s press conference to demonstrate some authentic fishermen’s crab recipes.

According to Mayor Chu, this coming weekend would be the start of 2012 New Taipei Crab Festival. He would like to welcome everyone to join this fun event at Wanli and enjoy the delicious local crab recipes. Department of Agriculture said there will be a special crab sale selling a total of 1800 kilograms of crabs and a raffle contest giving out special coupons that can be exchanged for a discount when purchasing the entrance to the seafood feast at Yeliu Fish Port. There will also be a festival parade at the event site welcoming all citizens’ visit.
