A touching gift for Mayor Chu
“I’d like to give my awarded drawing to uncle Chu” said by a mental delayed child at the event “Angels Fly Slowly with Love,” organized by New Taipei City government. An 8-year old kid gave his photo to Mayor Eric Chu. “Thank you for this gift” said Chu.
“Children are our angels. Although some angels fly slowly, they are still our angels and we still love them,” Chu said figuratively.
Chu recalled a very touching scene from the movie “Touch of the Light” where mother of the leading actor, Yuxian, had her final glance at Yuxian before they separated reluctantly at school.
“The film tells us that parents of mental delayed kids need to pay more patience and take extra care of their kids simply because these kids love their parents more than the average children.
The founder of the “Angel Heart Family” Lin Zhaochen and his wife shared their experience of being parents of a mental delayed child. They have been promoting a concept that “parents should come forward first, and then their children may have hope for their future.” The concept was discussed interactively during the event.
Banqiao District Office invited a optic atrophy singer Zhang Yuxia who has a wonderful voice as Teresa Teng to sing at the event. Zhang spread her optimistic attitude towards life to the participants through her singing.
