Wulai Automated Parking Garage opens to public

 Wulai Automated Parking Garage was officially opened for New Taipei City Residents a free parking for 14 days, and it begins on 16th of November. The garage was built to relieve parking issues and to elevate tourism service quality. In the same time, Wulai visitor center was also opened to public.

Wulai Automated Parking Garage had been awarded the “Gold Award in the Public Infrastructure sector in Planning & Design” of 2012’s FIABCI-Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Award for it’s magnificent and recreational design on parking routes and art decoration. The garage not only contained a humane space design, but also met user’s needs

Chu said that the development on the Wulai’s tourism is now an important job for the city government, with it’s rich resources for tourism, and also the great place to show the world New Taipei City’s multi-culture and aboriginal culture. He pointed out the next step of development was the mountain behind Wulai, so visitors would be embraced by the beauty of the area.

The parking garage, set in operation on the 1st of December, offered 424 small vehicles parking space, 15 large vehicles parking space, 32 scooter parking space, and 24 bicycle parking space. It offers one time parking fee of $60 NT for small vehicles and $120 NT for large vehicles; moreover, monthly parking was also available for $1500 NT for small cars, and $3500 for large cars.

Transportation Department indicated that the parking lot was located on the entrance of Wulai old street. The architecture appearance combined the Atayal’s culture symbol and modified by more than 3000 aluminum grilles.

The garage also provided free “Bicycle parking cabinet” and free cellphone charging service. Miss Lin, a bicyclist, found the “Bicycle parking cabinet” fascinating, and she was encouraged to ride to Wulai and enjoy the hot spring.

In addition, art decorations sets on each floor were made from the local artist. The “The Atayal’s tree of life” that sets up on the 1st floor was now covered with people’s wishing cards, including Chu’s blessing for the people : peace, health, and happiness.
