Cincinnati City and New Taipei City signed the Students Exchange Project

 Mayor Eric Chu and Mayor Mark Mallory from Cincinnati City of United States joined the signing ceremony at the New Taipei City Hall on December 3rd. Chu was glad to sign the New Taipei City - Cincinnati City High School Students Exchange Project, and he hoped it could bring the new leaf for the cities cooperation.

Cincinnati is a big city in the U.S., and the Students Exchange Project would not only bring benefit to both cities, but would also make the students experience different cultures.

Chu noted that Educational Department had begun the candidates selection, and the Student Exchange Project had planned to send 30 high school students to join the program and head to Cincinnati for the first time in April 2013.

Mayor Mark Mallory indicated that this was his third time visiting New Taipei City, and he was really impressed by the city government’s assistance on The 2012 World Choir Games which was held by Cincinnati. Mayor Mallory hoped the students would experience different lifestyle and culture which is the main purpose of running this project.

Educational Department, New Taipei City Government and the city government of Cincinnati has been deliberating to promote the Educational Cooperation Program for a long time. The selection between all the public high schools in New Taipei City was finished on 30th of November, and the second round selection was scheduled on 13th of December. In addition, the high school students from Cincinnati would join the exchange project in October 2013.

The accompanying members from Cincinnati would observe and study the childcare policies, education, arts, economic and tourism in New Taipei City, and the members included: Arlen Herrell, Director of International Affairs, Shawn Butler, Director of Community Affairs, Ryan Adcock, Director of Legislative Affairs, Zhong Junxian, the Cincinnati - New Taipei City’s Sister City Chairman of the Committee and Committee member Cai Boyu.
