Mayor Eric Chu promotes the development in Huiyao area

 New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu lead the Urban and Rural Development Department and city councils to perform a simple land surveying on Huiyao area, Zhonghe District on December 12. Chu hoped the central government could remove the construction prohibition for the area, and he also wished to expand tourism, business, and leisure development in Huiyao in the future.

Chu indicated that Huiyao area is close to the Zhonghe expressway, and the convenient traffic makes it appropriate to build offices, shopping malls, entertainment facilities and R&D centers. The future development on Huiyao area must follow the steps from Taipei metro area, and get rid off the development on industrial area and science parks stereotype.

Regarding some of the Huiyao areas are still prohibited to construct by military, Chu said that he would ask the central government and legislators to evacuate the military area completely, and indicated Urban and Rural Development Department to plan three different kind of possibilities on evacuation, including not evacuated, partial evacuated and completely evacuated.

Councils Jiang Yongchang, Qiu Fengyao, Jin Ruilong, Lin Xiuhui, Chen Jinding, Zhang Ruishan, who participated on the survey, also whished to evacuate the military area and promote the local development.

Chu said that the government would re-plan the traffic route for the development on Huiyao area, and he suggested Urban and Rural Development Department continued to communicate with councils and local government for great cooperation on the area""s development.

In addition, about the development on Qilu Special Industrial District, Chu instructed Urban and Rural Development Department to finish the public facilities planning as soon as possible.
