Mayor Eric Chu encourages the communities to go green
New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu attended the 2012 New Taipei City Green Community Award ceremony on December 13 to honor 30 excellent green communities. Chu encouraged the communities to bring up the spirit on promoting the green neighborhoods and making them clean and beautiful.
Chu indicated that the communities which won the award were great models for the other communities, and he hoped the other communities can join them to make New Taipei City a better place.
Xu Chunteng, Chief of Huorao Village, gave a tour to Mayor Chu and other guests of the beautiful scenes on Hope River Community, where has plants cropped besides the river, the fascinated birds and free cleaning bags for pets.
Agriculture Department indicated that the Hope River Community stood out from 139 participants and awarded 2 consecutive years for the city subsidies. The city government subsidized NT$80,000 on planting and related materials to encourage the citizens to make the environment greener and more beautiful.
