Simplified technologies make government info easier to the citizens
New Taipei City Mayor Chu at the city government conference introduced three government contact services to the citizens on December 18. The three services are 1999 service number, the online service and on-site service, and each services should consider the priority for the citizens’ convenience.
Chu indicated that the city government should integrate all the District Offices, so that the citizens could apply their affairs in every location in the city. For example, Banqiao citizen can apply their affairs in Xindian District or other Districts.
Directors from each Department were required to check the 1999 service number on citizen affairs from time to time, and to avoid the repeated on call forwarding problem, making sure to handle the citizen affairs on the first line.
Wu Zhaoming, Chairperson of Research, Development and Evaluation Commission, put forward the three technologies: LBS(location-Based Service), DSS(Decision Support Systems) and IT(Information Technology) on the city government report. The technologies could open the government information to the public, and New Taipei City had been ranked 195th on the world""s open government.
Wu indicated that the Public Information of New Taipei City Platform, which will be on the road next year, will provide city information and city government information, including the index and analysis on city population, economic, public order, education, labor and social welfare. The open information from the city government would not only make the information searching more convenient, but also make the enterprises cooperate well with the government.
In addition, the information, category system and the searching system weren""t even complete, so the city would publish the New Taipei City Government E-data Operating Guidelines to open the public info based on the Personal Data Protection Act. Citizens could apply and use this guidelines and it cannot be transcripted, resold or bestowed.
Chu indicated that the technology always comes from humanity, so that the government should develop the plan based on the citizens, the cost-effect and the friendly interface.
