Sanxia Elementary School is under the phase II reconstruction project
The second phase reconstruction of NTPC Sanxia Elementary School had begun on February 26 after the first phase reconstruction work was finished.
SES was established in 1900, so that the school yard was too old to handle the earthquakes. NTPC government had started the reconstruction project in 2009. After the first phase of the project, the government enlisted NT$410million budgets on the second phase of the project
NTPC Mayor Eric Chu congratulated the school on finishing the first phase of the project. Chu also thanked the supports from the city councilors, hoping the second phase of the reconstruction project will be completed on schedule.
The reconstruction project was predicted to be done in June 2014, including four floors of teaching building, two floors of underground parking garage.
Education Department indicated that the whole reconstruction project would be finished in Feb. 2015.
Principal of SES said that the reconstruction project would provide a better learning environment, a more stable construction against earthquakes, and more parking lots for the teachers and citizens.
In addition, the new-built underground parking garage will relieve the parking lot issues during holidays.
