Well-known European and American corporation buyers come to New Taipei City

 To expand markets internationally and to promote local excellent products worldwide, New Taipei City Government hosted the second event for Expanding Trade with New Taipei City to offer New Taipei City’s medium and small businesses opportunities to have face-to-face talks with 10 companies from USA, UK and Germany as well as to obtain orders onsite.

May Eric Chu indicated that there were about 250,000 companies registering in New Taipei City, and the majority was medium and small businesses with outstanding product development and innovation technology, but lacked of solid marketing ability which other big corporations possess. Therefore, the Government actively tried to attract global companies, and offered platforms for trading such as export promotion team and the event of Expanding Trade. The objective was to help Taiwanese companies to expand outside of Taiwan, and to draw international companies to invest in Taiwan.

Chu said that the export promotion team consisting of 72 companies was divided into two groups to expand markets in ASEAN countries, and the results were excellent. The Expanding Trade hosted by New Taipei City cooperative with Taiwan External Trade Development Council invited famous foreign corporations to have face-to-face talks with medium and small business of New Taipei City. The first event with Japanese corporations on 7/22/2013 was very successful, and the total purchase amount was NT$5.4 billion. There were Western and Japanese buyers for today’s event, and it was hoped that more New Taipei City’s businesses could participate in to progress New Taipei City’s industrial developments.

The Economic Development Department represented that the second event would invite 10 companies from USA, UK, German and Japan. Those companies would talk about what they were, and what their future purchases were, and then medium and small businesses could interact with those buyers as well as set up face-to-face interviews. It was estimated that the amount of the onsite purchases and follow-up purchases would be valued at least NT$2 billion, and with possible total of NT$7.4 billion for two events.

The invited corporations for this event included the following: Stanley Black & Decker, Global Equipment Company Inc., Advance Auto Parts, Micro Technology Concepts, The North Face, Rosch Computer GmbH, The Consortium, Valeo Service, Panasonic and NEC.

Ye Huiqing, the Director General of Economic Development Department, represented that New Taipei City had the greatest number of medium and small businesses in the nation, and had the highest flexibility for managing and innovating. To help the city’s enterprises grow without any obstacles, the Government not only offered land, money, people, skills, and high-efficiency services, but also assisted medium small businesses in opening marketing and sales opportunities.
