InnoSquare Forms International Partnership to Advance Entrepreneur Resources
New Taipei City Government opened InnoSquare in November of last year (2014) as part of the continuing effort to promote globalization. Today (4/15), New Taipei City Mayor Chu and one of the top ten accelerators in the world (as ranked by the U.S magazine, Forbe’s), Founders Space, signed in partnership. Mayor Chu hopes this partnership will allow young entrepreneurs to gain access to funding and new knowledge and enable them to break into the global market.
Mayor Chu said that InnoSquare is attracting many young, talented people with innovative ideas. Within the square, New Taipei City Government, in collaboration with National Chiao Tung University, provides professional entrepreneurial mentoring, and is now partnering with one of the top ten accelerators in the world, Founders Space, to enable entrepreneurs with the necessary resources needed to start their businesses. Select teams may be eligible for research and training opportunities in the U.S. The mayor believes this will be a very beneficial collaboration for New Taipei City’s entrepreneurs.
The Economic Development Department reports that Founders Space has been ranked as one of the top ten startup accelerators in the world by both Forbe’s and Inc. magazines. The company is located in the SOMA area of San Francisco, which is well-known for its startup atmosphere. Founders Space provides startups with good training programs, business resources and matchmaking opportunities, and Founders Space works with startups geared towards existing industries or emerging markets. This partnership includes: teams with good records are sponsored to travel to Founders Space’s headquarter in Silicon Valley for training abroad, New Taipei City teams are licensed to sign-up for online international entrepreneurship classes, and Founders Space will introduce international venture capitalists and industry professionals to InnoSquare for business matchmaking and mentoring.
