“Fun Xinbei”: the ultimate smartphone app that show you around famous attraction
Following the “New Taipei City Government On Hand” app series such as “A-Lun On-line”, “Medical Genie”, etc., Research, Development, and Evaluation Commission Information Center released a new smartphone app, “Fun Xinbei”( or “Fun New Taipei” ), which features an action game combined with famous attractions in New Taipei City.
Chairman of Research, Development, and Evaluation Commission, New Taipei City, Jimmy Wu, said that smartphone games are the perfect media for touting tourism because of their predominant usage by mobile phone users. He claims that by playing this new smartphone game, people can be enjoying its exciting action game play while at the same time being introduced to different attractions in New Taipei City.
The game “Fun Xinbei” features the game play in which players can be one of the four heroes wearing bee costumes and enter stages of famous attractions in New Taipei City to launch their onslaught against monsters.
“Fun Xinbei” also proves itself to be beyond just a common action game by utilizing the QR-Code and GPS technology. By being physically present at any of the specified attraction points, players can either check in or scan the QR-Code with their mobile phone to obtain special in-game items, which give players another motive for actually visiting the attraction points. Chairman Wu said “Fun Xinbei” is now available for free download at Android Market and its iPhone/iPad version is on its way to Apple app store in 3 weeks. Further updates with new stages and monsters are expected to come in future and welcome everyone to challenge.
