 Mayor encourages job seekers at Xinzhuang Career Fair


The Labor Department of New Taipei City Government held a large-scale career fair today (September 19) at Xinzhuang Sports Center. The department invited 72 businesses, looking to fill 4,079 positions, to set up booths at the fair. New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu was also in attendance; the mayor wishes the job seekers to find a suitable position.

Mayor Chu says that today’s event is the this year’s largest career fair in New Taipei City. The mayor expresses appreciation to all of the businesses that have came from all over the nation to provide over 4000 job. For many consecutive years, New Taipei City has been ranked first in attracting businesses. The mayor hopes that through events such as this job fair, many first-time job-seekers will have a successful transition in the working world.

The Labor Department reports that the event has invited well-known manufacturers and corporations—including Unimicron, Xintai Industry, Unitech, Giant, YouBike, Next Media, Far Eastern Group, Grand Hotel, Taiwan Mobile, Wowprime, and others—to set up booths. Information and technology accounts for 27% of the job providers, dining industry accounts 29%, service accounts for 26^, transportation and security accounts for 10%, and hotel and restaurants accounts for 10%.
