First New Taipei City Job-Expo ended with a hire rate of 37%

Not even the chilly temperatures can deter the job-seekers’ passion. Department of Labor, New Taipei City Government held the first New Taipei City Job-Expo today (2/21), which attracted around 2400 job-seekers to the event with 1609 resumes submitted and 594 applicants hired, posting a hire rate of 37%. It is worth mentioning that DinTaiFung, the famous gourmet restaurant chain, attracted more than 350 applicants that formed a long queue for its job interview until almost 4:00 p.m.

 

Taishan Drum Group gave a spectacular drum performance to signal the start of the event. In his opening speech, New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu said New Taipei City Government had a distinguished result for investment invitation last year that registered a total of 27k companies, a 10k increase from the past number, raised the number of job opportunities by 57k, and lower the unemployment rate by 4.2%. He encouraged further effort by the government workers to help all job-seekers find suitable jobs.

 

Mayor Chu later along with several city administration officials released sky lanterns for bringing good luck to New Taipei City. The Employment Service Center also looked forward to revitalized local job market through promoting local featured industries. Commissioner of Department of Labor added that this year’s Job-Expo invited 53 famous listed companies, which provided a broad pool of 3469 job opportunities ranging from catering service to sales to electronics.

 

Employment Service Center, Department of Labor also provided vocational counseling services, career lectures, career adaptive analyses, electronic services, etc., to help job-seekers find their suitable jobs. 3 large-scale, 5 medium-sized and 6 campus job fairs are yet to come in future to help job-seekers into employment.
