Mayor Chu attends the CPBL All-Star Game

 The 2012 Chinese Professional Baseball League All-Star Game began last night at Xinzhuang Baseball Stadium. Accompanied by several city councilors, New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu attended the game to have fun with tens of thousands of baseball fans.

 

In his opening speech, Mayor Chu gave his warmest welcome to all the baseball fans coming to the All-Star game and wished through support of fans Taiwanese baseball could become even more successful.

 

According to the commission of CPBL, the annual All-Star game has returned to Xinzhuang Stadium after 6 years. Through fan voting, favorite players were elected to form the North Team and the South Team. While the North Team comprised of players of Brother Elephants and Lamigo Monkeys, the South Team comprised of players of Uni Lions and Sinon Bulls.

 

In an effort to promote baseball, the CPBL provided 500 game tickets to students from 9 schools so they could enjoy the biggest summer event of Taiwanese Baseball.

 

The band of New Taipei City Police Department performed before the All-Star game, and two Chinese youth baseball team players carried out the ritual of ceremonial first pitch.
