The hundred-people Bunun chorus gives a spectacular performance

The hundred-people Bunun chorus performed in New Taipei City today at Xinzhuang Gymnasium. According to Mayor of New Taipei City, Eric Chu, to grandly celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Memorial Day, the government invited Christian and Catholic groups in the city to host this year’s event. He wished the 3400 audience could enjoy the bliss of gospel music by Taiwanese indigenous people tonight.

At the ceremony, Mayor Chu thanked many city councilors, church heads, and tribal chiefs for their support making tonight’s event possible. He also would like to welcome people to attend the National Indigenous Peoples’ Sports Tournament in New Taipei City next year.

The Bunun chorus had been invited to perform in New York three times, and this was the first time the chorus performed in Taiwan. The team first sang “Let’s Just Praise the Lord”, which was then followed by the choir of “Come Follow Jesus”. Deeply touched by the heavenly melody, the audience all stood up to dance with the music.

Several New Taipei City councilors attended the music fest tonight and gave their congratulations.
