Come to eat with the elderly in Wugu District

Have you eaten yet? New Taipei City Mayor Chu asks the question to the seniors in Wugu District when he attends the newly-launched campaign to eat and even cooks in person so everyone can enjoy it. All senior attendees all burst into laughter and are satisfied with this opportunity to get close to the mayor.

Mayor Chu also puts that eating with the elderly is a blessing because it’s a good chance for them to get together and socialize. In addition, he also adds that space and the number of people are not that important if three or five friends can just sit and eat together with happiness, it would be enough.

The other thing worth noting is the ingredients used in every dish; that is, less oil and salt but more organic vegetable that can make eating with the elderly a pleasant experience for their health and energy.

The Neighborhood Development Chief in Wugu District Hung Lichun also says that since there are not many stores to shop such as a 7-ELEVEN, restaurant, and pharmacy in Genshing neighborhood in Wugu District; more volunteers are desperately needed to cook for the elderly living there. At present, three dishes with one bowl of soup are provided three times a week (12 meals a month), which only cost $200NTD in total. With more skilled chefs coming to cook for them, more senior citizens in Wugu District are sure to have a good time ahead.
