Egg Moon Cake Festival is held in New Taipei City
Let’s try to make Egg Moon Cake become New Taipei City’s Specialty!” The 2012 Egg Moon Cake Festival is held on September 1st at Banqiao Rail Station B1 Plaza with more than 40 bakeries at present, is inaugurated by New Taipei City Mayor Chu for the purpose of promoting all traditional pastries in the city.
Mayor Chu also hopes that more Egg Moon cakes can be sold abroad such as China. He also congratulates this year’s winners for their effort and accomplishment for their cakes. It is believed that the best Egg Moon Cake can be found in New Taipei City for sure.
Some of the best include the “Bamboo shoot Egg Moon Cake” introduced by Shumile Bakery in Banqiao District made by local green bamboo shoots and green beans to lower the calorie intake for many health-conscious people these days. Interestingly, the shape of the cake is similar to the bamboo shoot structure in front of New Taipei City Hall, representing both culture and meaning wholeheartedly.
Economic Development Bureau says that the festival ends on September 2nd and everyone is welcomed to participate for the best Egg Moon Cakes in town.
