Mayor Chu attends 30th anniversary party of Commonwealth Publishing Co.

 Mayor of New Taipei City, Eric Chu today attended the 30th anniversary party of Commonwealth Publishing Corporation. He thanked Commonwealth for providing Taiwanese people many valuable publications and cultivating literary talents throughout the past 30 years.

 

During his speech, Mayor Chu praised that publications of Commonwealth show sophisticated, in-depth thoughts on humanities, finance, and business administration. Thanks to the leadership of its founder, Mr. Gao Xijun, the Commonwealth has been continuously producing publications that help people learn and improve societies in Taiwan. Such consistent and supreme effort demonstrated by Commonwealth Corporation, as Chu remarked, has been his aspiring model for operating the government ever since he joined the politics.


In the end, Mayor Chu wrapped up his speech by encouraging every attending guest to “read good books, have friendly talks, do great deeds, and possess a kind heart.”


Bearing the theme of “advancing thoughts”, this year’s anniversary party had a presentation of all the classic books Commonwealth has published in the past 30 years. Founder of Commonwealth, Mr. Gao Xijun, said he would like to thank all writers, translators, and business partners that have worked with Commonwealth in the past 30 years, and wished the corporation in future can continue thriving with the country.

 

Today’s party was hosted by the famous writer, Mr. Wang Wenhua. Several special guests including Control Yuan Premier, Wang Chienshien, and Miaoli County Mayor, Liu Chenghung, etc., also attended the party today.
