Mayor Chu announces Superb Green Library will be built in New Taipei City

New Taipei City Library Construction Ceremony is held on September 17th, where Mayor Chu launches the event and announces eight new libraries will be built in Shulin, Shenshun, Shizi, and Xindan districts in the future. While the feedback of these libraries these days have been rather satisfactory; it seems there’s no any symbolic one in New Taipei City so far.

Mayor Chu says that his administration team really focuses on public and cultural development even though Financial Planning and Public Debt laws have not been passed and enacted, making it harder for the city government to put further emphasis on cultural development within the city.

As for now, there are multi-media, multi-display, and free Wi-Fi areas on the first floor of the new library. There are also Periodicals & Newspapers section, lecture Hall, children’s reading area, and finally study room from the second to ninth floor. The tenth floor will be the administration office along with a parking lot in the basement from the 1st to 3rd floor with a capacity of 509 cars.

Public Construction Bureau also adds that the new library will have an outlook of a digital bookshelf which looks like a pile of books incorporating traditional and aesthetic beauty aimed at creating a new landmark in New Taipei City. In addition, it will also be the first and only green library that meets seven international architecture standards in the nation.
