Mayor Chu talks about Danbei Expressway Construction

New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu was inquired about the construction of Danbei Expressway during the meeting on 6th of November.

Chu understood that Taipei City residents would have concerns about traffic congestion once the construction launched. He emphasized that the purpose of the construction was to eliminate the congestion issue in the future. The city government would cooperate with Taipei City Government, city councils, and residents proactively to ensure smooth progress on the construction.

Chu said that life and traffic are inextricably linked between two cities. Two city governments would perform another professional assessment to reduce traffic congestion concerns.

In response to the construction fence and routing problem, Chu said “The construction fences should be removed from sites whenever it’s necessary; it should not occupy any space on public roads. No unused space should be taken.” He would send staffs from Transportation Department to make sure such issue would not happen.
