Mayor Chu inspected the construction progress of the new highway and expressway

Mayor Chu inspected the construction progress of Highway No.65 and New Taipei City Huanhe Expressway Yonghe District. Chu hoped the project could solve the traffic congestion issue and open to public before Lunar New Year.

Chu indicated that two roads would connect Highway No. 64, Zhongshan Overpass, National Highway No. 3 and No.1, and set up a “ three horizontal, three vertical” network to ease the traffic problem.

In addition, Chu said that all the traffic signals, traffic lines and symbols should all be done before the project was completed in one and a half month. He hoped that workers could coordinate well and minimize any inconvenience for residents.

Transportation Department indicated that the Highway No.65 would be completed on 20th of January in 2013. It would facilitate the political and economic development, and relieve the traffic flow from Zhonghe exchange road to the west Taipei district.

The New Taipei City Huanhe Expressway Yonghe District No.7 was expected to complete on 29th of November in 2012, and No.8 would be done on 31st of December. The Expressway would connect 12 bridges in the city, and run parallel to Taipei’s Expressway across the river.

Chu requested Transportation Department and construction unit to alter the traffic signals from Huaghe Yonghe Expressway to Baoan Road according to the public’s opinion. Chu also reconsidered the orientation of the noise reduction wall, and hoped the neighbors besides the construction would not effect by the noise.
