New daycare center open in Yonghe District

New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu attended the opening of Yong Geng daycare center which was build besides Cardinal Tien Hospital Yonghe Branch. Chu said that with the low birth rate crises, the government and enterprises must build a better daycare environment for the people. Labor Affairs Department would provide allowance, consulting and counseling for the labors who was willing to give birth in Taiwan.

Yong Geng daycare center was the first build daycare center since New Taipei City got restructured. The opening of the event were preformed by the children""s ballet, and with their lovely appearance, Chu presented a secret gift for encouragement.

The low-birth rate got more serious in these days. Chu said that the government positively promoting the childcare policy, for that by the end of 2014 there will be 32 public daycare center in New Taipei City. The Mayor appreciated the support from Cardinal Tien Hospital, specially the Xindian Ankang public daycare center which was backed up from Cardinal Tien Collage and Cardinal Tien Hospital, and not only provided high quality in children""s early development, but also got highly recommended by the parents.

Chu hoped the new daycare center could be a happiness fortress for the citizens in Yonghe and health care workers. Chu also indicated that the importance of charity spirits for the labors who works in enterprises. The city and enterprises needed to provide the labors for an environment without worries, and hoped they could happily give birth and happily go to work.

Yong Geng daycare center enrolled 25 children from a month old to two years old, and the baby enrolled priority will be the Hospital’s staff than the community’s residents. The daycare time was around 7:30 am to 7:00 pm, and would be change to 24 hours if it was necessary.

In addition, the daycare center provided a diversity courses for the kids, such as English class, music lessons, dance class and pottery clay lessons. The center also had several activities places for the kids, and set up an online monitoring-video for the parents to watch every moves which came from their babies.

Ms. Chang who lived in Yonghe took a day off a watch her 4 years old son’s performance. She said the daycare center served good food for the kids, and she was glad that the daycare center was close to her home that not only she can pick her son in a very short time but also make her working with no pressure.

Labor Affairs Department encouraged the enterprises to add more daycare center to balance the job and family for the labors. The beginning of the year, the newly registered daycare center will get at least 2 million NT dollars allowance. In addition, Labor Affairs Department would put an addition funds to the "Educational insurance staffs", "Nursemaid staffs" and "Professional consulting services", the allowance could last for six months. Labor Affairs Department also set up a service to provide the professional consulting and counseling for the enterprises who was willing to established a daycare center.
