Xinzhuang Stadium opens for Super Basketball League

Xinzhuang Stadium was opened for the 10th Super Basketball League on December 7. Mayor Eric Chu opened the jump ball ceremony and welcomed the fans who joined to cheer for the New Taipei Yulon and Taiwan Bank. Chu hoped that two teams could show their skills and bring the fans an exciting game.

Chu said that the New Taipei Yulon was the first basketball team named after the city, and this act would not only connect the team to their city, but also make the 4 million citizens the team’s fan base. In addition, Chu wished that people need to support the basketball league and make it develop well.

New Taipei City Government changed Luxgen Yulon into New Taipei Yulon on February 4, 2012, expecting not only to share the basketball experiences to the local schools but also to develop the citizen’s exercise habits.

Sports Office indicated that the team named after the city could make the basketball group close to the local government, and made a great profits between the city and the team, such as holding the summer basketball camp, opening the basketball courses in local schools and finding the basketball player to stand for the sports activities as spokesperson. The teenagers could learn a lot of basketball skills through the sharing and interacting experiences from the basketball star.

Yulon basketball star had coordinated with the New Taipei City Government as the LOHAS Basketball Summer Camp’s instructor from July 9 to 20, 2012. The purpose of the camp was to teach the students basic moves, one on one, three on three, and the development of team work spirit and exercise habits.

Ever since the MRT Xinzhuang line opened to public, the Xinzhuang Stadium had become the most convenient stadium in Taiwan. In that case, Sports Office hoped that the fans could gather together and cheer for the New Taipei Yulon local basketball team.
