Mayor Chu awards the aboriginal societies

 New Taipei City Mayor Chu arrived at Banqiao Farmers"" Association to attend "The 2012 Aboriginal Leaders Seminar and Societies Commendation Ceremony" for commending the outstanding aboriginal societies and showed appreciation to the members dedicated to the aboriginal affairs.

Chu indicated that New Taipei City have merged the aboriginal groups around Taiwan, and make it rooted and developed their own culture in the city. This had not only enriched New Taipei City""s local features, but also made New Taipei a more diversity city.

The City Government would support the aboriginal policies, if it could make the aboriginal people for good. Chu hoped that the aboriginal societies can not only help propagandize the policies for the government, but also made the aboriginal people know their rights and interests. The policies included employments, social welfare and health.

As the end of October, 2012, the number of aboriginal citizens in New Taipei City had reached to 51,756, and it was 1.3% on the City""s total population which was also the 5th aboriginal counties around Taiwan. "The Development on Aboriginal Affairs, New Taipei City Government" was drew on 2012, and it had engaged 68 aboriginal citizens to served as the leaders to help the government in developing the cultures, education, rituals and languages affairs.

In addition, Mayor Chu and city councils Zhong Ren Da Lusi, Wang Jianzhang, Yi Jiang Ba Luer and Yang Chunmei joined to award the 2012 New Taipei City Outstanding Aboriginal Societies Award. Aboriginal Development Association, Zhonghe District was awarded the Excellent Societies Award for NT $ 24,000. Shulin, Shenkeng and Sanxia Districts was each awarded the Jia Deng Award for NT $ 18,000. Xinzhuang, Banqiao, Wulai, Wugu, Linkou, Xizhi and Tucheng Districts was each awarded the Yi Deng Award for NT $12,000.
