President Ma and Mayor Chu pray for Taiwan on Christmas Eve

 New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu joined live with President Ma Ying-jeou from Kaohsiung City, along with pastor Zhang Mao-song and Zhang Fu-min to pray peaceful and happiness for the people in Taiwan on Christmas Eve.

Chu said that he expects the economic to rebound through citizens efforts and welcomes the New Year with a joyful and hopeful heart.

President Ma quoted Luke Chapter 2, 10-14 through live from Kaohsiung for caroling. In addition, Christmas Eve Party began at 19:00, and several artists such as Biung, Rachel Liang, Yao Hung all joined the performance.

Chu and the government members along with the New Taipei City Church Chorus sang “Silent Night” in different languages, including Chinese, Taiwanese, Hakka, English and Amis, which symbolized the harmony of ethnic.

Jiang Jun-ting, Civil Affairs Department Director indicated that the earnings from the Charity Garden Party held at 4 o’clock in the afternoon would be donated to the disadvantages. In addition, citizens who wore Christmas costumes on Citizens Plaza could get a limited “Christmas Teddy Bear” released from the city government.
