Goods and material should be prepared on daily basis in response to emergency
“Goods and Material Shortage Drill” took place at the XinPu Junior High in Banqiao District today. This drill was held by the New Taipei City government as an effort to stimulate wartime and disastrous situations in which hundreds of people were involved to make the drill more convincing. The Economic Development Department said that there are total of 157 supply stations in 29 districts of New Taipei City, ten alone in the Banqiao District.
Accredited by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the “Goods and Material Shortage Drill” included several emergency scenarios for practice.
As the chief commander of the drill, New Taipei City Secretary Sen Xian Chen believes that more preparation will lead to less damage. War might not happen, but natural disasters are inevitable with the trend of weather change caused by global warming. It is necessary to be prepared in response to any possible emergency.
“Goods and Material Shortage Period Administrating Committee” was formed today during the drill by the New Taipei City Economic Development Department in collaborations with the Civil Service Department, Information Department, Health Department, Police Department and Fire Department of New Taipei City.
Riot Police and Firefighters of the Hai-San Branch were credited for fully displaying discipline and live saving skill during the drill.
