Labor Policy Forum was hold to ensure the labors benefits
Sean Chen, Premier of Executive Yuan, Pan Shi-wei, Chairperson of Labor Affairs and New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu attended the Labor Policy Forum held by Council of Labor Affairs in New Taipei City Hall on January 5. Chu indicated that the labors not only need to fully understand the system of labor insurance, but also importantly to have faith in it.
Chu said that the government is concerned about the labor insurance system, because labors are the foundation of the country. The labor insurance system was not only works on the previous hard working labors, but also works on recent labors and new- joined labors.
New Taipei City is the most populated city with the largest number of labor in Taiwan. Chu said that the number of insurance labors was up to 1.44 millions, and it""s the government""s duty to make the labors understand and have faith in the system.
Chu indicated that the old labor insurance needed some adjustments due to the change in environment, economic and low birth rate problem. He emphasized that the attitude on improving the insurance system will not only take account of labor""s benefit through next decades, but also make the retirement pension and pension system fair.
In addition, Chu appreciated Premier Chen and Chairperson Pan who participated in the labor policy forum on the weekends, and hoped that the forum will resolve and explain the doubts from the labor citizens, and make the labors willing to join the labor market.
