The second phase of the reconstruction will demolish the western building, and build a total area of 7,965.67 square meters building, including five floors and a one-floor basement. Director of Education Department Lin Teng-jiao hoped that the reconstruction could give the students a safer and better learning environment.

Xinzhuang Elementary School was established during Japanese Colonial Era, and after the era more buildings were built in 1955, 1965 and 1982.

In recent years, Education Department had been in an effort to positively reconstruct the old schoolyard.
