Mayor Chu praised the farmers in Famers Day

 New Taipei City Mayor Chu attended the 2013 Farmers Day Event to praise the hard-working farmers and officers from the Farmers’ Association on January 30. Chu said that the agriculture is the foundation of the economy in Taiwan, and it had not only awarding from the international, but also providing excellent products to the citizens, thanks to the hard work by the farmers.

The Farmers Day Event which was held by the Farmers’ Association, had invites many farmers who dedicated to the agriculture industry. Several shows were performed on stage for entertainment, including the lottery, which continued surprise the guest.

Chu indicated on how important role the agriculture had played in this new era, especially on developing the organic products. The organic products were popular by its parity price and great quality, and it had been served to the elementary and junior high schools once a week on their daily meal. In addition, the organic tea which produced in New Taipei City was now a popular product on the international.


“The good products always came with a better marketing system”, said Chu. The nutritious lunch promoted by the city government had driven the production needs. In addition, Agriculture Department established Organic Market in Tamsui, Bitan, Shenkeng and Sanchih.

Chu promised to continue promoting on Farmers’ welfare, such as the health checks for farmers and fishermen, farmers’ insurance, and farmers’ welfare allowances.

Several staffs were awarded, such as Wang Tiansong, Zhang Bi, Chu Wanfa, Li Xianyao, Li Tianhe. Lin Zhaozong, and You Zhen.
