5 fishermen praised from President in fishermen festival
Praising for model fishermen and quality fishery products, the activity is taking place today and tomorrow in Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf. There were five fishermen received praise from President Ma.Other attendees included several high profile government officials, accompanying with celebrities host shows.
“ The spirit of fishermen to take adventures upon any kind of circumstances in order to maintain the livelihood is worth our learning. Praising model fishermen is an affirmation of their contribution to our society.” said Mayor Chu in“Meeting between President and Fishermen.”
During the speech, Mayor Chu will not forget to promote the fishery products of New Taipei City. “There is a variety of fishery products, for instance, cuttlefish, crab, abalone, are New Taipei City’s feature products. Please have them a try.
There are two touring attractions, Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf, Yeliu harbor, which were respectively awarded as the “Heaven in Earth” and “Wonder of Geography” last year that you cannot miss.
Agriculture Department said that there is a total of thirty-nine fishermen are awarded this year in the fisherman’s festival, and there is a number of 5 fishermen in New Taipei City obtaining this great honor.
We will have naval vessel open to the public, shows of naval security team, contest of street dance, sales of fishery products, and fishery auctions, etc. Welcome on board.
The Fisherman’s Festival in Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf on July 30 and 31, which has Fisheries Agency assisted, Taiwan Fishermen’s association sponsored, New Taipei City Government and Tamsui District Fishery association cosponsored.
