NTPC government holds the memorial ceremony for the 228 incident

 NTPC Mayor Eric Chu and city councilor Chen Xingjin joined the 66th 228 Incident Memorial Day at Sanchong 228 Memorial Park on February 28.

Chu indicated that the incident had brought us some history lessons, and he hoped the story of the victims would be narrating to the public.

“Taiwan needs three strengths to lead the growth of the society, which is peace, democracy, and positive thinking.”, said Chu.

The victim family member of the 228 incident, Cai Yi Lin, had told the story the first time in pubic of how her mother suffered from the incident. “My mother was protecting my brother and sister with her body when the incident occurred.” she said, “They were hiding on the second floor, and some witnesses came up crying help, then the tragedy happened.”

“Some military polices came up and fire their weapons, and my mother got shot in the leg. She turned out to be paralyzed, and died at 40.”

Another family member of the victim, Chen Mugui indicated that he appreciates the government holding the ceremony every year, and paying respect to the victims.
