NTPC promotes the free liver function tests in remote areas

 New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu attended the press conference of the promotion on “Free Liver Function Tests for Remote Areas” at 6th floor of the city hall on March 27. Chu sent out an appeal to the citizens for the importance on the diseases prevention.

Chu pointed out that some remote areas, such as Pinxi, Shuangxi, Shiding, Gongliao, and Pinglin are lack of medical resources, and he hoped that the new service will bring good help to the citizens in each areas.

In addition to the remote areas, NTPC government also provided free health examination for the citizens over 65 years old, and encouraged these seniors to take a good view at their health conditions.

Liver is an organ which has no pain nerves, so that the early discovery of clinical signs of the liver diseases must go through blood testing or ultrasonography. According to the 2011 NTPC mortality data, one of twelve people died because of liver diseases, so that the early prevention and cure on liver diseases is an important issue for this nation.
