New Taipei City promotes the free economic zone

 NTPC Mayor Eric Chu instructed various departments to promote the free economic zone on April 30, and he wished that the economic zone will bring a better logistics between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.

Chu emphasized that the free economic zone will be focus on three topics, which are integrating four main industries; expanding the superiority of these industries; making good use of communication technologies to enhance the investments.

The demonstration zone will contain Bali Entertainment Area, Linkou Studios, Xinzhuang International knowledge Area, New Taipei Cloud Area, Longan Cultural Park, Xizhi Commerce and Trade Park, and Tamsui Cultural and Creative Industries.

Chu indicated that promoting the free economic zone had become a trend all over the world. The Council for Economic Planning and Development had approved five harbors and Taoyuan Aviation City as free economic zones on March 27. Among the others, the greatest advantage of NTPC was its vast lands; it will make the transportation much quicker than the other areas.

In addition, Director of the Economic Development Department Ye Huiqing noted that 40% of the logistics industries were concentrate in NTPC, including an annual output value of NT$32.2billion.
