City government celebrates the Goddess Mazu’s birthday
New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu along with Director of Civil Affairs Department Jiang Junting and City Councilor Liu Meifang all visited the Banqiao Ci-Hui Temple to celebrate the birth of Goddess Mazu on May 2.
Chu joined the crowd and give prayer for the weather, citizens’ peace and prosperity.
Every beginning of March in Chinese calendar, Banqiao Ci-Hui Temple will be surrounded by the craze of Mazu, and the climax of the celebration will be on March 23.
In addition, the parade of the Goddess Mazu started from Ci-Hui Temple was begin at 8 o’clock in the morning.
