NTPC Mayor Eric Chu throws out the first-pitch at the LLB qualifying games

 In 2013 Little League Baseball (LLB) qualifying games, Tainan Municipal Chongming Junior High School defeat New Taipei City Erchong junior high school in overtime, and headed to the finals on May 4. Chongming Junior HS would face Taoyuan County Hsinming Junior HS in the finals, which is the team defeating Taipei City Chongqing junior HS earlier that day.

New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu was invited to throw the first-pitch at the qualifying games, and Chairman of the Board of Hua Nan Financial Holdings Wang Rongzhou was invited as the batter. The game was open free for public viewing, and was broadcast live by Videoland.

Chongming Junior HS and Hsinming Junior HS will meet at the finals on May 5, and the winning team will headed to Philippines, Clark for LLB Asia and Pacific Regions on June 30 to July 7.

Erchong and Chongming had a tough game. Chongming lead the game with 7:4 during 6th innings, and Erchong even the score on 7th half. In overtime, Tainan overcome the one point deficit and won the game with 9:8, and made it to the finals.

NTPC Sports Office indicated that the qualifying games were organized by city government and Chinese Taipei Baseball Association. 14 Cities and Counties participated in the competition, and only one team can reach the LLB games in Philippines.
