The better art spaces will be available for the artists

 New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu indicated that the government should provide the better art spaces through the artists’ perspective at the city conference meeting on May 21. Chu instructed the Cultural Affairs Department to review the concept of promoting the art spaces around NTPC, and he wished to take the difference of local industries and cultures as the classification of the stationed artists; making each art space more representative.

Director of the Cultural Affairs Department Lin Qianqi presented a report about the art spaces in NTPC during the meeting, in order to make an effective use of the new added 10 art spaces in several districts, including Banqiao, Yingge, Shenkeng, Ruifang, Tamsui, and Xindian (The new Art Space in Xindian is under development).

Lin noted that Banqiao had provided five art spaces, including the 435 Art Zone, which provide four spaces for the artists to display their art works; the Fuzhou Art Village, stationed by Gang Lee’s (Ang Lee’s brother) Encore Film Corporation had provide filming spaces for filmmakers.

In addition, Sanying Art Village in Yingge District had provide a working space for the artistic team; New Taipei Art 26 in Shenkeng District dedicated on promoting the music education; Lohas Creative Base in Ruifang and International Art Village in Tamsui both provide spaces for several teams such as fashion designs, jewelry creations, creative writings, and film making.
