An activity center is being built in Yong’an Children’s Park for civilians

New Taipei City Government was planning to build a multifunctional activity center in Yong’an Children’s Park for civilians’ leisure use. The groundbreaking ceremony was held in the morning of 11/18/2013, and New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu hosted the event which New Taipei City Council Chairman Chen Xingjin, Councilors Li-Weng Yue’er, Li Yudian, Li Kuncheng and Huang Guilan all attended together to pray for the blessing on the construction.

Mayor Chu said that the population in Luzhou District was increasing, and the needs of civilians for leisure space were also rising. In the future there would be a spacious meeting hall, conference rooms and multifunctional classrooms set up for citizens.

He also said that the City Government and civilians needed to work together to foster the developments of the city. There were still many constructions needed to be executed in Luzhou’s District, and he hoped that people could continuously support the government so that all the constructions could be accomplished well.

Luzhou District Office indicated that the activity center was designed for a one-floor building above the ground, located in the intersection of Sec. 2 Yong’an North Road and Chongyang First Street at Luzhou District with a total area of about 466 square meters. The center occupied roughly 14% of Yong’an Children’s Park’s space, and a spacious meeting hall, conference rooms and multifunctional rooms would be set up inside. The construction was predicted to be finished in the end of April next year, and the total budget for it was approximately NT$16,720,000.

The Luzhou District Office indicated that the population density in this district was very high with about 28,000 people residing per square kilometers. The needs of civilians for leisure space were rising, and after the completion of the construction, civilians living in the neighborhood would have high quality leisure space; ultimately benefits were brought by multi-objectives land use.

Luzhou District Office represented that the design of the activity center was to fuse into the local park’s environment as its principle, and it used natural lighting and ventilation during daytime to reduce energy consumption, so it was an energy-saving, carbon-reducing and environmentally friendly green building.
