Nanshi Civil Activity Center starts to operate at Linkou

 Following the openings of Hunan Civil Activity Center, Lilin Civil Activity Center and Dongshi Civil Activity Center, the fourth Civil Activity Center – Nanshi Civil Activity Center started to operate at Linkou District in New Taipei City on 12/20/2013 after the city’s upgrade. New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu attending the opening ceremony indicated that Linkou District was being developed very fast, and there was almost a new construction carried out or accomplished each month. He believed that there would be surely more people, more companies and more enterprises moving to Linkou District, and New Taipei City encouraged and welcomed more and more people to join the family.

Mayor Chu said that he really appreciated the support from New Taipei City Council and the cooperation of various agencies, so Nanshi Civil Activity Center could be built. Linkou District’s Nanshi Village grew surprisingly fast, and the population increased from 1,117 people in 2004 to 13,613 currently. It could be seen that more and more people were willing to move to Linkou District. There were many important constructions in progress such as New Taipei Media Center; he believed that more companies, enterprises and stores would be stationed in Linkou, and they would together foster the development of Linkou.

Linkou District Office indicated that Nanshi Civil Activity Center located in the entrance of Zhongxiao First Road and Nanshi Second Street was funded by restructuring funds and built with Nanshi Park’s space for multi-objectives. The 2-floor activity center had a total floor area of about 825 meter squares; the first floor was used for activities and the second floor had four study classrooms for a variety of skill workshops, culture seminars and meetings. There were trails and benches set up outside, offering leisure space for civilians. In the future all kinds of activities for seniors could be hold here, and the senior eating together policy could be also carried out here. Consequently, local residents and seniors could have rising coherence to together make New Taipei City a city of happiness.
