Groundbreaking of Dingpu Police Stn., first one co-constructed with MRT stn.
The groundbreaking ceremony of Dingpu Police Station, first one co-constructed with a MRT station nationwide, was taken place on 3/7/2014. New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu, several citizen’s representatives and local enterprisers held a golden shovel together for the groundbreaking. The base of the construction with an area of about 1,270 square meters was located closely next to Dingpu Hi-Tech Industrial Park and the terminal station of MRT Tucheng Line. The construction was estimated to be finished by the April of 2016, and the construction budget was about NT$180 million.
Mayor Chu indicated that the co-construction of Dingpu Police Station’s offices and MRT Dingpu Station entrance/exit was just located at the endpoint of Dingpu Extension Line and the starting pint of Sanying Line, so this MRT station would become the most popular and prosperous one when Dingpu Extension Line and Sanying Line were completed in the future. Recently Dingpu Public Senior Care Center was set up here, and it would also be considered to set up a public child care center or related agencies of New Taipei City in this location. The goal was to make here a great place for everyone to use.
Police Department pointed out that the construction base of Dingpu Police Station was located at No. 690 Zaiyunxiao Section, and the area of it was about 1,230 square meters. It was the first Police agency co-constructed with MRT facilities nationwide. To improve the working and living environment of the police as well as to maintain public security, this police station was set up in the entrance/exit of MRT Dingpu station, so the police could easily monitor local public security and traffic. Once the construction of the police station was completed, the police here could be closer to civilians, and became their good neighbor.
The Tucheng Police Precinct indicated that the construction budget for Dingpu Police Station co-constructed with the entrance/exit of MRT Dingpu Station was about NT$184 million, and the construction duration would be about 690 calendar days. The new police station building had 3 underground floors and 8 floors above the ground. The land expropriation was completed in 2000. There were 15,368 households totally in the district, and the total population was 42,583.
Transportation Department indicated that MRT Dingpu Station would be completed by the end of this year, and it was the extension of MRT Banqiao-Tucheng Line. The construction using underground shield tunneling method began from MRT Yongning Station along the underneath of the third and fourth sections of Tucheng’s Zhongyang Road to Dingpu Hi-Tech Industrial Park, and had a total length of 1,950 meters approximately. It would be the starting point for MRT Sanying Line in the future. The Tucheng’s Dingpu Police Station was co-constructed with MRT Dingpu Station, and it was the first one to be stationed into a MRT station.
