From October, seafood is waiting for you
“We have 5 district fisherman’s associations, 30 habors and a 126km long shoreline within New Taipei City area. We should make a good use of our fishery resources, and let the people taste our good fishery products to promote our harbor tourism.” said Mayor Chu.
Agriculture Department Commissioner, Liao rongqing showed that, there are Tamshui, Jinshan, Ruifang, and Gongliao district fisherman’s associations in New Taipei City. From now on, there is a list of activities which will take place in each district fisherman’s association respectively. That includes October Crab Season in Wanli, December Abalone Exhibition in Gongliao, April Black Throat fish in Jinshan, May Whitebait taste in Tamshui, and July Squid Festival in Ruifang. We hope this sequence of promotions would help people to understand the beauty of New Taipei City thru our fresh and decent fishery products.
Mayor Chu pointed that “after two consecutive weeks of inspection, we have found that we do have excellent harbors, for instance, Guihou harbor in Wangli District which was voted the very attractive harbor with the most beautiful shoreline.” Agriculture Department said “We have taken San Francisco, Hawaii harbors as reference to improve our harbors, and we hope that will bring us the considerable profit from our harbor tourism.
Mayor Chu also mentioned that, we have built the fishery products direct sale centre in the well-known Fuji Harbor in Shimen District. Once we have rented out the centre and the restaurants, we shall be able to stimulate our fishery tourism and development. Commissioner Liao said, we will lower our rental deposit of the direct sale centre, and we shall rent out the centre by September, and fully operated in next Chinese New Year.
Until now, 19 spared spaces found, the Agriculture Department has decided to build some eco-friendly buildings on the spared spaces by the end of the year so that New Taipei City can be one of the Go-green cities.
Mayor Chu admired the Agriculture Department have done an excellent job of reorganizing and greenizing spared lands in New Taipei City, and there are another 45 eco-friendly places will be done within 4 years for people to play and rest.
In order to protect our natural environment, the “Home of Trees” has been set up by Agriculture Department. In any circumstances, if trees have to move due to any constructions, those trees could all be moved to the “Home of Trees”. Therefore, the trees can be kept for the purpose of protecting our eco-friendly environment.
