Greatest Metropolitan Park in New Taipei City Enters Phase Two of Construction

New Taipei City Mayor Erik Chu encouraged water resource departments along with other city government agencies to continue their effort on land utilizations at the ground breaking ceremony for “Great Taipei Metropolitan Park” today (9/16). Mayor Chu emphasized the idea of LOHAS and localized living.

The “Great Taipei Metropolitan Park” will be 420 acres in size, 16 times the size of Taipei City’s Da’an Forest Park. It should also be the largest metropolitan park in Taiwan and will host as a connection hub for Sanchong, Luzhou, Xinzhuang and Banqiao District.

Phase two of the construction covers up to 60 acres of land, focusing on landscaping and overall facilities. Mayor Chu has promised Congressman Xin-Jin Chen that future resource integrations will be made by multiple departments and should transform the park into one of the resident’s favorite leisure destination.

Transportation to the Great Taipei Metropolitan Park will be easy thanks to Expressway 64, Metro Airport Lane and Metro Airport Lane.
