Halloween Dressed Up Party’s Prized Up for Grab in New Taipei City

Halloween Party was held in Fuzhong area today (10/29) with streets sealed from traffic. Mayor Chu said the festival is aimed to be a large family party for everyone to enjoy the creative atmosphere. Similar party will be held for Christmas.

The hosts of the “2011 New Taipei City Halloween Dress Up Party” are Economic Development Department, Agriculture Department and Fuzhong Commercial Area. It claimed to be the most creative Halloween feast with activities like treat-or-trick, ghost stories and parades span from afternoon to evening.

Mayor Chu was happy to observe the fact that plenty of families brought their children or grandchildren to the fest. Some even came from different cities/counties which made the fest even more lively and enjoyable.

The street sealing in Fuzhong area has been successful according to Mayor Chu. Valentines’s Day and Lunar Moon Festival were both hosted in the area with steets sealed. The city government will be looking to do the same for Christmas with the aim to attract more tourists to the area.

Kids were excited about Trick-or-treat event as they were rewarded with large selections of sweets.

Mayor Chu did not dressed up for the fest as he claimed to be scary enough when not dressed up. When asked what if he likes to dress if he must, he suggests Harry Potter and robot “Atom” in Real Steel that are popular right now.

The winners of the dress up competition were announced around 19:30.
